About
Kimberly Marketto, LCSW
Hello, I am Kimberly Marketto, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and clinical addiction specialist (LCAS). I have devoted my career to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. Born in the great state of North Carolina, I developed a deep sense of community and compassion from an early age. My passion for understanding human behaviors, personal experiences and promoting mental well-being led me to pursue a career in social work.

As with many families, I moved around a lot due to my family being affiliated with the military. I moved to Warner Robins, Ga in October 2017 as my husband retired from the Air Force and took a civilian job at Robins, AFB. My husband and I share 5 children, 1 grandchild, and two dogs expecting another grandchild in mid-August (2024). I have many hobbies and like to collect various things. By chance someone gave me a gnome which led me to obtaining a large collection of various gnomes. You may see many in my office!

Education:
I earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, Pembroke NC (Honors). The experiences from this institution allowed me to hone my skills in counseling, therapy, and case management. Prior to attending the university, I earned an Associate of Arts Degree Middle Grades/Special Education from Southeastern Community College. My initial interest in school was in teaching but over time it changed to wanting to help others in a therapeutic way.

My commitment to lifelong learning drives me to stay informed about the latest therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT); DBT for Substance Use Disorders, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Other training includes Seeking Safety (PTSD & Substance Use Disorders), The Matrix Model, Stages of Change and other addiction training for those with dual diagnosis.
Professional Journey
After completing my education, I embarked on my professional journey. I gained valuable experience working in various settings, including community mental health centers, military mental health clinic, intensive outpatient programs, hospital inpatient social work, department of social services, hospice social work and being a field instructor/mentor to students at East Carolina University, and providing supervision/training to active-duty military members seeking certification for alcohol/drug abuse counseling services.
Driven by a desire to provide personalized care, I joined Rewire the Misfire. The practice, located at 121 Carl Vinson Parkway, serves as a haven for individuals seeking emotional support, healing, and personal growth. Whether clients face anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship challenges, I offer a compassionate ear and evidence-based interventions.

Approach and Philosophy
I believe in a holistic approach to mental health. I consider not only the psychological aspects but also the social, cultural, and environmental factors that influence well-being. My warm demeanor and genuine interest in my clients create a therapeutic alliance built on trust and respect. My empathetic approach and ability to connect with clients set me apart as a trusted therapist.
Community Involvement
Beyond the practice, I remain active in the community. I am very good at networking and collaborating with local organizations. Over the last several years I have increased advocating for mental health and substance use awareness in the local area to dispel the stigma that mental health has had on the community. I have organized several events that bring awareness and prevention services. My dedication extends beyond office hours, as I strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those that I serve.
